Yes, I agree! What better way to process workflow than to get involved with database automation, http://www.stratavia.com/data_palette/AutomatedPatching. Though there are those who turn their noses to automation those who have begun to migrate their networks over to an automated IT service already know the value of automation. I can tell you this my friend, of the three networks I am involved with, the two that are getting into automation have already seen marked improvement in how their business software applications run and they’ve been able to improve application availability something which the one un-automated network can’t.

I also have to agree that through automation you achieve the best database administration possible. It’s also extremely time consuming to have your IT personnel dipping their hands into small bug problems when a network is now capable of handling these minor issues itself. Those people and/or companies that don’t look at automation solutions as viable and profitable solutions for IT service will have some serious back peddling to do in a few years.
